    About Flint

Flint ("Flint," "we," "us," or "our") operates flint-investing.com and all associated mobile and desktop applications (the "Service"). Flint is a non-custodial cross-platform investment management tool that lets you view, manage, and execute trades across your brokerage accounts and cryptocurrency exchanges from one interface.

We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or custodian. We never hold, control, or have custody of your investment assets. All trades and transfers are executed through your existing accounts at your explicit direction.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the Service. By using Flint, you agree to the practices described here.

    Information We Collect

    Information you provide directly

    • Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
    • Identity information: Government-issued ID or verification documents if required for identity verification.
    • Payment information: Subscription billing details, processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number or CVV on Flint's servers.
    • Communications: Messages you send via email or our support channels.

    Information from your connected accounts

When you connect a brokerage account, cryptocurrency exchange, or bank account, we receive — with your explicit authorization — the following data through secure third-party connectivity providers:

    • Account identifiers, balances, and holdings
    • Portfolio positions and asset allocations
    • Transaction and order history
    • Account type and institution name

We access only the permissions you grant during the connection flow. We never receive or store your brokerage, exchange, or bank login credentials. Authentication is handled by the connectivity provider; Flint receives only an encrypted access token.

    Information collected automatically

    • Device and browser data: IP address, device type, operating system, and browser version.
    • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, and in-app navigation.
    • Log data: Error reports, crash logs, and diagnostic information.
    • Referral data: Referral codes or affiliate identifiers if you arrive via a partner link.

    Information from third parties

We may receive limited information from identity verification services, fraud prevention providers, or referral partners consistent with their privacy policies and any consent you have provided.

    How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Service. This includes providing portfolio aggregation and cross-platform investment execution, processing your subscription, verifying your identity, preventing fraud, sending you transactional and support communications, improving product features, administering referral programs, and complying with our legal obligations.

We do not use your financial account data to build advertising profiles or for any purpose unrelated to providing the Service. We do not make automated decisions about your finances without presenting them for your explicit review first.

If you have questions about any specific use of your data, email support@flint-investing.com and we will respond within 30 days.

    How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only as described below.

    Service providers

We work with third-party companies to operate the Service. These include: brokerage and exchange connectivity providers; bank connection providers; payment processors; AI and natural language processing providers; cloud hosting and infrastructure providers; analytics and monitoring services; and identity verification providers. Each provider receives only the data needed for their specific function and is contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

    Referral and affiliate partners

If you participate in our referral program or sign up via an affiliate link, we share limited account information — such as registration confirmation and subscription status — with that partner to administer the referral. We do not share your financial account data, holdings, or transaction history with referral or affiliate partners.

    Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, court orders, or government requests, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Flint, our users, or the public.

    Business transfers

If Flint is acquired or transfers substantially all of its assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

We never share your investment holdings, balances, or transaction history with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.

    Artificial Intelligence

Flint uses AI-powered features to help you analyze your portfolio, interpret natural language commands, and surface insights across your connected accounts.

    • What AI is used for: Interpreting natural language trade instructions, summarizing portfolio performance, and generating cross-platform insights. AI outputs are informational — they do not constitute investment advice.
    • How your data is processed: When you use AI features, relevant context is transmitted securely to a third-party AI service provider to generate a response, solely to fulfill your request.
    • We do not use your data to train AI models. Your personal and financial data is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning model — ours or our providers'.
    • You are interacting with AI, not a human. Any chat or natural language interface within Flint is AI-powered and not staffed by a human unless explicitly stated.
    • No automated financial decision-making: Flint does not execute any trade or transfer without your explicit review and approval. You remain in control of every action.

    Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, and understand how Flint is used.

    • Essential cookies: Required for authentication and session management. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
    • Analytics cookies: Help us understand navigation and feature usage via third-party analytics services.
    • Preference cookies: Store your in-app settings between sessions.

You can control cookies through your browser settings or opt out of analytics by emailing support@flint-investing.com. We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertising or share your financial data with ad networks.

    Data Retention

    • Account and profile data: Active period plus 30 days after deletion, then deleted or anonymized.
    • Financial account data and transaction records: Up to 7 years from each transaction date, to comply with applicable financial recordkeeping requirements — even after account deletion.
    • AI interaction logs: Up to 12 months for debugging and service improvement, then deleted or anonymized.
    • Payment records: As required by our payment processor and applicable tax law, generally 7 years.
    • Usage and technical logs: Up to 90 days.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where a longer retention period is required by law.

    Security

    • Encryption of all data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher
    • Encryption of stored credentials and access tokens at rest
    • Hashed and salted password storage — passwords are never stored in plaintext
    • Multi-factor or biometric authentication required for high-risk actions (transfers and withdrawals)
    • Access to production systems restricted to personnel who require it
    • Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and vendor arrangements

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@flint-investing.com.

    Your Rights & Choices

    Controls in the app

Identifiers (name, email, IP address); customer records information (financial account and transaction data); commercial information (subscription and billing records); internet and electronic activity (in-app usage data); and inferences drawn from the above to understand service usage patterns.

    Sale and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share" opt-out mechanism before any such activity begins.

Referral program — Financial Incentive Notice

Our referral program may offer credits or discounts for referring new users. You may opt out at any time by stopping use of your referral code or contacting us. Any incentive reflects the cost of providing the reward, not a monetary valuation of your personal information.

    Submit a California privacy request

Email support@flint-investing.com with the subject "California Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days, with one possible 45-day extension.

    Children's Privacy

    Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above, notify registered users by email, and display a notice within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
